I think I wanted it to be some sort of gekko or something. It's amazing how much a simple colouring scheme can make you perceive two very similar ideas differently, and to move in two very different directions with them. Like the Firebird, it has the same basic shape (though perhaps a little softened around the edges).

To me, designs like that all mean very different things to me. This one, has a particularly crafty, adaptable look to it, while the other one might seem a little more headstrong and passionate.

Is that weird to look into one's own artwork so much like that? o.O
